The transcript endpoints return the IRS transcripts TaxRock holds for the taxpayers a credential can access, as JSON. They work the same in both configurations. The links on this page go to the direct access reference, and the delegate access reference has the same pages.
Responses return TINs, EINs and account numbers in full, except the account transcript’s primaryTin and spouseTin, which are the last four digits. The examples in this reference use fake identifiers.

Transcript types

  • Wage & Income: the information returns, such as W-2s and 1099s, reported for one tax year, with a summary of the year.
  • Return: one return for one tax period, its sections grouped by return, schedule or form.
  • Account: the account for one form and tax period: header figures, a balance summary and transactions.

Finding a transcript

1

Find the taxpayer

List taxpayers returns the taxpayers the credential can access. List client accounts returns the client accounts the credential can access, each with its taxpayers.
2

List the taxpayer's transcripts of one type

3

Fetch one transcript by its id

A taxpayer or transcript the credential cannot access returns 404, the same as one that does not exist. createdAt is when TaxRock created the transcript record, and updatedAt is when TaxRock last updated it, both in UTC.

Paging

Three endpoints are paged, with the page (from 1) and pageSize query parameters. Each paged response carries page, pageSize, totalCount and hasNextPage.
